Foundation Routine For Oily Skin

Hello Lovelies,

I recently posted about my primer that I used to help control my oily skin, and I decided to post my full foundation routine and the products I use to control shine! It has taken me a while to find all the products that I currently use, but I am glad that I have finally found a routine that works for me and hopefully it will work for you too!

Products that I use:

1. Neutrogena Shine Control Primer
2. Covergirl Clean Oil-Control Foundation in the color Soft Honey
3. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent

I apply these in the order stated above, and I also add blush and or bronzer between step 2 and 3!

Hope this helps anyone with oily skin because it has been a life saver for me!

Favorite Winter Outfit

Hello Lovelies,

I decided to do a flashback Friday to last winter when I went on my family vacation to Utah. It was so beautiful with all the snow and the weather was amazing for it being winter in Utah. I happened to get a picture of my favorite outfit from that trip and also one of my favorite items that I basically wore the whole time! My headband! Here is a picture of my outfit...

I am wearing my plush jacket from Old Navy, my plaid scarf, and my headband from Charming Charlie!

I wish I could be enjoying the winter weather of Utah at the moment.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day and Happy Black Friday! (I will definitely be going shopping today!)

Thanksgiving Outfit of the Day

Hello Lovelies,

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you are enjoying lots of turkey and treats!
Today, I went to my families house for turkey dinner and decided to wear a simple yet chic outfit. I am wearing a floral skater skirt from Forever 21 and a classic v-neck top from The Loft. I threw over my jean jacket from Nordstroms to pull together the look! I am also wearing my new shoes from Urban Outfitters, that I talked about in my last post. Here is my outfit...

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Favorite Items of the Day

Hello Lovelies,

So I think I am going to start something new where I post a few items that I find simply charming throughout the day! Today I got my package in the mail that had my new flats in them and I also bought a new candle that smells just like the holidays! Here are a few pictures I took today...

New Flats from Urban Outfitters from the brand Cooperatives. They are amazingly cute and give an edge to any outfit! Also they are actually comfortable which I was skeptical about when I first ordered them.

I am totally loving big and bright necklaces for this season! This necklace is made out of orange sea glass and it works great with black plain tops! Perfect statement piece!

I have been craving a holiday scented candle for about a week and finally got one! It is in the scent Moroccan Holiday by Casablanca. It literally is what I think the holidays smells like! It is a pretty big candle so I am hoping it will last a while!

Hope you enjoyed my favorite items of the day!

Fall Golden Neurtral Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hello Lovelies,

I decided to do a tutorial for  a neutral golden eye makeup that will work great for fall! It is light enough for a neutral look yet has enough warmth to give it depth! Here is the look...

Products that I used:

1. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
2. Elf Eyeshadow Palette (browns and neutrals)
3. Eyeshadow Brushes (including a blending brush)
4. Gilded Highlighter by Benefit
5. Sephora Retractable Eyeliner
6. Mascara

How to:
To start off this look I first primed my eye lids. I picked out the color eye shadows that I was going to use ...

First, I applied a matte neutral base to my entire eyelid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush (1).
Then with a flatter eyeshadow brush I packed on the golden bronze eyeshadow to my lid under my crease (2). Then I took this matte brown and applied this to my crease with the same brush (3). After that I took my blending brush and blended together the two shadows so they have a smooth transition into one another. I also blended up a bit bring the darker color above my crease. Then with a fluffy eyeshadow brush I took this pale matte yellow shadow and used it as a highlight under my brow and brought it down to the corners of my eyes (4). Now I am done using eye shadows and am going on to using my highlighter. I am applying the gilded highlighter to the inner half of my lower lash line to brighten up my eyes. Then I applied eyeliner and mascara as I usually would!

Not so bad right? ehh well it may look like a lot of steps but it is actually a really quick and easy look to achieve and if you mess up it is easily fixable by blending!

Hope you enjoy this look and try it out for yourself!

Everyday Makeup Essential: Combat Oily Skin

Hello Lovelies,

I want to talk about one of my everyday makeup essentials! Primer! I never used to wear primer and always had my makeup melting off my face by the end of the day. I soon after realized what I was doing wrong and added primer to my daily routine. I use the Neutrogena Shine Control Primer everyday before I apply my foundation. This truly works for oily skin because it has a rice protein complex in it that absorbs the oils on your skin throughout the day. I myself have oily skin so my daily make up routine emphasizes a lot on combating the shine and applying this primer is a must! Without it, even when using matte powder and shine control foundation, shine still makes itself apparent but with the shine control primer it is the base necessary for all the other products to truly work!

Hope this helps with combating oily skin and I will be posting my everyday shine control make-up routine soon!

Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment by Fresh: Review

Hello Lovelies,

I recently came across the Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment and thought I would do a quick review on it!

This tinted lip treatment goes on very smooth and has a really creamy texture to it. The tint is a plum color but it is super light when first applied but you can definitely build up for more color! It softens my lips and also protects with with SPF 15. I think this is a great product for the fall and winter season especially because it gives a darker tint to your lips and also hydrates at the same time!

Here is a little picture of how this product looks on me!

I am definitely loving Sugar Plum by Fresh!

Perfect Smokey Eyeliner Everytime

Have you ever not had enough time to perfectly apply your eyeliner? Well here is my way to solve that problem! I will explain to you how to achieve perfect smokey eyeliner that is quick to apply and doesn't take precision, works great for those super busy mornings!

Here are the products you will need:
  1. Eyelash Curler
  2. Eyeliner
  3. Angled Smudge Brush
  4. Mascara
How To:
First curl your lashes with your eyelash curler. Then draw a thin line of eyeliner that just runs above your lashes from the outer corner of your eye to about the middle of your lid. Next take the angled smudge brush and blend out the line and also with a little upward motion bring the smudge up a little, also if you would like add what ever is left on the smudge brush to your bottom lash line. Lastly, add your favorite mascara, and the look is done!

This look is quick and looks great! Here is how the smokey eyeliner turned out this morning!

Favorite Perfume

Hello Lovelies,

I have always been very picky when it comes to picking a perfume that I like. Recently I was given a perfume as a gift and my first thought was that I should probably return it because I most likely wont like the scent. But I caved in and decided that I was going to try it out, and amazingly it is now my most favorite perfume ever!

It is the Daisy Sunshine by Marc Jacobs! The scent is sweet and it has a light floral touch! I love to put one spritz on my neck and one on my wrist which I then rub into my other wrist as well! It lasts all day without having such an overpowering scent.

The bottle design is super cute with the classic daisy perfume bottle and the cap with the multicolored daisies on it!

Let me know what your favorite perfumes are! Oh, and if you have any questions about the Daisy Sunshine perfume don't hesitate to ask!

Outfit Of The Day

Hello Lovelies,

I recently went shopping and bought a few cute items for the upcoming winter season! Can you guess what I bought? Sweaters! Duh!
Today I decided that the weather was just right to wear one of the sweaters I had purchased. So here is my outfit of the day!

I am wearing an American Eagle Outfitters sweater that has a sheer ruffled chiffon trim! It is such a feminine twist on sweaters and is a very versatile piece!

I chose to accessorize this outfit very simply with my Micheal Kors bracelet and a blinged out bow ring!

Hope you enjoyed this outfit of the day post!

Lipgloss Lovin'

Hello Lovelies,

For a while now I have been against lip gloss because it always seemed to make my lips chapped, but recently I have been using it over my chap stick and like magic chapped lips is no longer an issue when it comes to lip gloss! Now that I have been getting back into the lip gloss scene, here are a few of my favorite ones!

The first lip gloss I am going to mention is the Estee Lauder Pure Color gloss in the color Pink Kiss! It is a shimmery gloss with a very slight peachy pink tint to it! It a great versatile lip gloss that can be worn with almost any makeup look!

Next we have the very famous Juicy Tubes by Lancome in the color Moulin Rose. It is a very shiny lip gloss that has no shimmer. It adds that perfect sheen to lips with out overpowering with shimer! It brings out the pink in your lips but is still a very light on the lip color!

This lip gloss I love for wearing out at night, it is the Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss in the color Midnight Cowboy! It is a plumping lip gloss and it also has a tingly cool sensation when applying! It is very shimmery that's why it is great for when you go out at night! Also being that it has very subtle color it is perfect for a variety of makeup looks!

Top 5 Frizz Fighters

Hello Lovlies,

So let's talk about something that has been controlling our lives for a very long time...Frizz! I personally have been a victim of frizzy hair for since as long I can remember. It would seem impossible for me to find products that would conquer my frizz, but after a long time of searching I think I may have found some of the best products out there! Oh, and the best part is that you can buy them all from a drugstore!

These products have worked amazing on my naturally curly and frizzy hair! I will explain how I use each one in my no frizz routine!

So first we have It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite! This product claims to instantly correct hair in 10 ways! Here are the things it claims to do: enhance natural body, detangles, adds shine and silkiness, humidity resistant, color protector, prevents split ends, ELIMINATES FRIZZ, and thermal and environmental protector! I feel it certainly does all that, it is truly an amazing product! After I shower I towel dry my hair and spray this all over my hair! This product is great for days where you need all day protection against frizz and the humidity!

This product is by Organix and it is called Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy! It is a serum that has coconut oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter, and keratin proteins to smooth and de-frizz hair! Use this on damp hair before styling to have smooth and sleek hair all day!

Next we have the Tresemme Touchable Curls Shaping Milk! This is perfect for those with curly and frizzy hair. It sculpts perfect curls and smooths out frizz. I love this product for days I feel like leaving my natural hair. Rub this product into your hands and scrunch into damp hair to define curls!

Last but not least, we have the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Leave-in Conditioning Spray and the Flawless Finishing Creme. These two products together are amazing! When hair is damp spray the leave-n conditioner all over hair and brush it trough, then add a dime size of the finishing creme all over your hair! Together they fight frizz for flawlessly smooth hair!

These products have been life savers for me and my hair! Hopefully they can be the same to you!

I like to warm up the colors of my face with a rosier blush and lip color! Here is my look!
I like to keep the makeup on the lighter side but still add a splash of color to brighten up my complexion!
Here is a list of the products that I used for this look:
  • Foundation: Covergirl Clean Foundation in the color Soft Honey
  • Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me in medium (#25)

e.l.f Haul

I recently ordered some products from eyes lips face and they have just arrived! Here they are:

I am excited to review them all for you! This is my first time reviewing products so be easy on me!
So here we go!

This first item is the new baked blush in the color passion pink! Its appearance is a marbled bronzer base with some pink veins running trough it! This product is very shimmery so I would suggest applying in layers to get your desired look.

Next we have the High Definition Powder in translucent! This is a great product that you can apply as a setting powder to finish off your makeup look!

This item is the under eye concealer and the highlighter! The product is very smooth and applies great! Perfect for covering dark under eye circles and brightening up your eyes!

I also bought a Kabuki brush and it is super soft and perfect for powder and all over applications! Great brush!

So I thought I would give this Lip Exfoliator a try and the first thing I noticed was the smell! It has an amazing scent that is like vanilla ice cream! It effectively smooths lips but make sure to put a lip balm on after to help rejuvenate the moisture!

This next product is amazing, it glides on effortlessly and hydrates your lips while also adding a hint of color! I got it in the color rose which isn't as bright as it is when applied. It does have a minty sent to it and when applied it has a little tingle. Another plus to this product is that it also has SPF 15 to protect your lips!

Last but not least is the Makeup Mist and Set! I have not had the chance to use this product yet but i have read reviews about this product that said such good things! I will try it out soon and let you all know how I feel about this product because a setting good setting mist is hard to find!

Here is a swatch of the under eye concealer & highlighter, and also the lip balm!
Hope you guys enjoyed my elf haul items and my review!

DIY Hamsa Charm Bracelet

Hello Lovelies,

I decided that I was going to do a tutorial for my DIY Charm Bracelets! It is perfect to wear with any outfit and it is an accessory that is so "in" right now! I decided that I wanted to go with a gold tone hamsa connector charm and a little 'made with love' heart charm to add to the overall appearance! Hopefully you find this as easy as I did and that you will try this super cute DIY charm bracelet out for yourself! (oh and it's a perfect little holiday gift for anyone that loves accessories!)

First, you will need a connector charm, like the blinged out hamsa one I have here! And if you would like you can add another little extra charm to add to the overall appearance of the bracelet!

Second, you will need beads (I prefer using these white glass beads) and an elastic or magic stretch cord!

Next, I attached the cord to the charm using a crimp tube. This was a little tricky, but what I did was I looped the cord through the charm and put both ends of the cord through the crimp tube. Then I pulled one end of the cord so that the other end was super short and almost touching the crimp tube. After that I crimped the crimp tube! Wow, hopefully this wasn't as confusing as it just sounded in my head!

Now that the hard part is over with you can start stringing the beads onto the cord! Try to keep the amount of beads equal on each side of the connector charm.

After you have strung all the beads except the last one, add the little extra charm to the bracelet and end with your last bead!

Finally, tie the ends of the cords together in a double knot and secure it with some super glue! (I love using gorilla glue) Then cut off the extra cord after the glue has dried!

And there you have it, your DIY Charm Bracelet! I love to add it along with my watch, just for that perfect touch of arm candy!
