Review: IT Cosmetics Tightline

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! My spring semester just began and it has been hectic but I am back!

Recently I have been trying out a new product from IT Cosmetics called the Tightline Full Lash Length Mascara Primer. I had it on hand but never used it until a few weeks ago, and it has got me hooked!

Here is what the tightline looks like...

Basically this product has taken the concept of tightlining your upper lash line and turned it into a tightline and mascara combo. It gives that look of full lashes while separating and priming your lashes at the base!

The wand of this product is super slim and gets into the base of your lashes effortlessly.

Here is how I use it:
Take the wand and bring it as close to your lash line as possible. Just make sure not to poke your eye! Then I like to rotate my hand toward my face so that the wand gets in closer to my lash line. This motion will evenly coat and darken the base of your lashes and with the rotating movement it will start separating your lashes at the base! After, I like to bring the wand halfway up my lashes to prime them for mascara. Then I just add my mascara of choice and it makes your lashes look amazingly full!

I would totally recommend this product to everyone because you can choose to use it on its own for a light effect for maximize it with mascara!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Favorite Skincare Products & Skincare Routine

Hello Lovelies,

I have recently found my favorite skincare products and routine that has helped clear up and rejuvenate my skin. I always thought that my skin was really stubborn and could handle harsh products but low and behold my skin is actually pretty sensitive and I changed all my products to ones that are mild and that don't have harsh ingredients. Here are the products I use:

  • Yes To Soothing Daily Gel Cleanser
    • Super soothing and gentle yet works wonders on removing makeup and daily impurities.
  • Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
    • Gentle and great at revitalizing your skin in the morning.
  • Muji High Moisturizing Toner
    • Works wonders! It basically takes the place of a moisturizer. Yes, its that moisturizing yet still works as a toner.
  • Clarisonic Mia 2
In the mornings I get the warm water running and wash my face with my Fresh Soy Cleanser and then pat my face dry. Then I apply the Muji toner to my face with a cotton ball.

At night I also get the warm water running and then use my Clarisonic Mia 2. I run the bristles under the water and apply a squeeze of the Yes To Cleanser to the bristles and wash my face to the timed buzzes of the Clarisonic. (And yes this removes all my makeup! Amazing right!) Then I go in with the Muji Toner and apply that once again to my face and that's it!

Hopefully you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have any questions on the products!

Lip of the Day: Mauve Madness

Hello Lovelies,

I am posting a quick lip of the day for you guys! This lip has been my new favorite ever since I received my NYX products.

It is in the color Mauve and it is a nice dark rosy color. I don't think this picture does it justice, but it is very close to it! It is the perfect color for a night out or even to give you a sultry dark look in the daytime. The texture of the lipstick is very creamy and applies smoothly onto the lips. Blot it with a napkin and the color stays but it gives you a great matte effect. I think it is a very versatile color and great for almost anytime of the day!

Hope you guys enjoyed this quick lip of the day!

Neutral Matte Eyeshadow

Hello Lovelies,

I always love to have a good neutral matte eyeshadow look on hand for days I need a quick look. So I decided to do a simple tutorial on how I do my matte neutral eyeshadow.

Here is how I got this look:

1. Prime your eyes with your favorite eyeshadow primer. I used the Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay.
2. Take a matte base color that is basically the same color as your skin and apply it all over your eyelid up to the brow.

3. Take a darker matte cocoa colored eyeshadow and apply it only on the lid till right where your crease is. Also you can smudge a little of this on your lower lash line for a more intense look.
 4. Now take a darker matte brown that you can use for your crease and apply it in a "V" to the outer corner of your eye lid and into the crease. Since I have slightly more of a hooded lid I like to blend my crease out and up more than you regularly would.
5. Take a matte highlight color and apply it under your brow and in the inner corner of your eye to highlight the eye.

6. Then blend out everything one last time to get smooth transitions. Finally add your favorite eyeliner and mascara. I chose to use the Estee Lauder Pure Color liner and my Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for Mascara.

Hope you enjoyed this eyeshadow tutorial!

Face of the Day: Natural Glow

Hello Lovelies,

So today I am posting my first FOTD post and I'm excited to see how it goes! I decided to do a natural look that still has a glow and hint of pop to it. I tried to use products that have a hint of the same color in them to make the look uniform.

Lets start off with the products I used in order of how I applied my makeup.

Skin:

1. Mally Perfect Prep Primer
2. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation
3. Smashbox Photo Ready Concealer - For under eyes and blended out with my ring finger.
4. elf High Definition Powder - Applied with stipple brush all over my face.

Blush & Highlight:

1. Estee Lauder Michal Kors Deluxe Blush Compact- Used the first color on the left for the apples of my cheeks.
2. elf Baked Blush - Used as a highlight above the blush on my cheek bone.

Eyes:

 1. Benefit Single Eyeshadow- in the color Leggy and I used this on my lid and blended it up a bit into my crease.
2. Sephora Waterproof Retractable Eye Liner- applied as a thin line along my top lash line and also in my top waterline.
3. Clinique High Impact Mascara- only on my top lashes and I applied 2 coats.

Lips:

1. Vaseline Lip Therapy- as a base and moisturizer for my lips.
2. Tarte Lip Surgence- in Smitten

Final Look:

I hope you guys enjoyed this FOTD and I definitley will be doing more of these in the near future!

Bye Bye Powder Brush, Hello Stipple Brush

Hello Lovelies,

So I just wanted to post a quick beauty tip that will help you get a more natural finish to your makeup! I used to use my powder brush for applying my powder over my foundation but I always thought it came off looking way too heavy, so now I switched to using my stipple brush!

Here is the one I personally use and love...
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/brushes/single-brushes/stipple_brush
It is the elf stipple brush! (click on the image for more info)

I just like to tap it lightly into my lose powder and apply it in a circular motion onto my face.
This technique still gives the matte look while keeping it natural and light.

Hope you all enjoy this quick beauty tip!

Drugstore Favorites

Hello Lovelies,

I always have a few staple drugstore makeup products on hand and wanted to share my favorites with all of you!

I want to start with the product I think I have talked about most on my blog which is the Neutrogena Shine Control Primer! I feel that it is an amazing product for those of us with oily skin and a little of it goes a long way.

I love to accompany the primer with the Covergirl Clean Oil Control foundation. Although it doesn't have the most coverage it it great for an all over even coverage and its color somehow magically blends in pretty well with my skin tone!

The next product I recently found and love! It is the Airspun loose face powder in translucent, it gives so much for the price. The powder is very fine and it gives the face just a even and smooth look!

Another product that I love but don't use as often is the Conceal Rx by Physicians Formula and it is a green concealer for dark marks. It works great and it is easy to blend and it dries quickly so you can apply your concealer over top!

This product is one of my all time favorites and I use it everyday, its the Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara! I have not found any other mascara that beats this one. It separates lashes effectively and gives great volume!

And last but not least is a new product by Covergirl called Lip Perfection. It is a slightly glossy lip tint and it is amazing! Perfect for an easy on the go lip color that is not too overpowering!

Hope you guys try some of these out for yourselves and let me know if you like them as much as I do!

DIY Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

Hello Lovelies,

Hopefully you guys are all having a great 2014 so far. So today I decided to share with you all a simple brown sugar lip scrub that uses only 3 ingredients. I thought it would be perfect to share now because the weather has been pretty dry recently and this is great to rehydrate and exfoliate dry lips!

What You Will Need:
1. Brown Sugar
2. Honey
3. Fresh Lemon Juice

How To Make It:
Add a tablespoon of brown sugar to a small plate or bowl.

Then add 1 teaspoon of honey and a squeeze of lemon.

Mix it together to create a paste like substance that it hold its own. And that's it!

How To Use:

Take a dime sized amount on a clean finger and rub it in a circular motion on your dry lips and wash it off with warm water after about a minute. Then apply your favorite chap stick or lip balm.

Store it in the refrigerator for further use! It will last for a few weeks!

This scrub can also be used as an exfoliator for your skin!
