Neutral Matte Eyeshadow

Hello Lovelies,

I always love to have a good neutral matte eyeshadow look on hand for days I need a quick look. So I decided to do a simple tutorial on how I do my matte neutral eyeshadow.

Here is how I got this look:

1. Prime your eyes with your favorite eyeshadow primer. I used the Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay.
2. Take a matte base color that is basically the same color as your skin and apply it all over your eyelid up to the brow.

3. Take a darker matte cocoa colored eyeshadow and apply it only on the lid till right where your crease is. Also you can smudge a little of this on your lower lash line for a more intense look.
 4. Now take a darker matte brown that you can use for your crease and apply it in a "V" to the outer corner of your eye lid and into the crease. Since I have slightly more of a hooded lid I like to blend my crease out and up more than you regularly would.
5. Take a matte highlight color and apply it under your brow and in the inner corner of your eye to highlight the eye.

6. Then blend out everything one last time to get smooth transitions. Finally add your favorite eyeliner and mascara. I chose to use the Estee Lauder Pure Color liner and my Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for Mascara.

Hope you enjoyed this eyeshadow tutorial!

Face of the Day: Natural Glow

Hello Lovelies,

So today I am posting my first FOTD post and I'm excited to see how it goes! I decided to do a natural look that still has a glow and hint of pop to it. I tried to use products that have a hint of the same color in them to make the look uniform.

Lets start off with the products I used in order of how I applied my makeup.

Skin:

1. Mally Perfect Prep Primer
2. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation
3. Smashbox Photo Ready Concealer - For under eyes and blended out with my ring finger.
4. elf High Definition Powder - Applied with stipple brush all over my face.

Blush & Highlight:

1. Estee Lauder Michal Kors Deluxe Blush Compact- Used the first color on the left for the apples of my cheeks.
2. elf Baked Blush - Used as a highlight above the blush on my cheek bone.

Eyes:

 1. Benefit Single Eyeshadow- in the color Leggy and I used this on my lid and blended it up a bit into my crease.
2. Sephora Waterproof Retractable Eye Liner- applied as a thin line along my top lash line and also in my top waterline.
3. Clinique High Impact Mascara- only on my top lashes and I applied 2 coats.

Lips:

1. Vaseline Lip Therapy- as a base and moisturizer for my lips.
2. Tarte Lip Surgence- in Smitten

Final Look:

I hope you guys enjoyed this FOTD and I definitley will be doing more of these in the near future!

Bye Bye Powder Brush, Hello Stipple Brush

Hello Lovelies,

So I just wanted to post a quick beauty tip that will help you get a more natural finish to your makeup! I used to use my powder brush for applying my powder over my foundation but I always thought it came off looking way too heavy, so now I switched to using my stipple brush!

Here is the one I personally use and love...
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/brushes/single-brushes/stipple_brush
It is the elf stipple brush! (click on the image for more info)

I just like to tap it lightly into my lose powder and apply it in a circular motion onto my face.
This technique still gives the matte look while keeping it natural and light.

Hope you all enjoy this quick beauty tip!

Drugstore Favorites

Hello Lovelies,

I always have a few staple drugstore makeup products on hand and wanted to share my favorites with all of you!

I want to start with the product I think I have talked about most on my blog which is the Neutrogena Shine Control Primer! I feel that it is an amazing product for those of us with oily skin and a little of it goes a long way.

I love to accompany the primer with the Covergirl Clean Oil Control foundation. Although it doesn't have the most coverage it it great for an all over even coverage and its color somehow magically blends in pretty well with my skin tone!

The next product I recently found and love! It is the Airspun loose face powder in translucent, it gives so much for the price. The powder is very fine and it gives the face just a even and smooth look!

Another product that I love but don't use as often is the Conceal Rx by Physicians Formula and it is a green concealer for dark marks. It works great and it is easy to blend and it dries quickly so you can apply your concealer over top!

This product is one of my all time favorites and I use it everyday, its the Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara! I have not found any other mascara that beats this one. It separates lashes effectively and gives great volume!

And last but not least is a new product by Covergirl called Lip Perfection. It is a slightly glossy lip tint and it is amazing! Perfect for an easy on the go lip color that is not too overpowering!

Hope you guys try some of these out for yourselves and let me know if you like them as much as I do!

DIY Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

Hello Lovelies,

Hopefully you guys are all having a great 2014 so far. So today I decided to share with you all a simple brown sugar lip scrub that uses only 3 ingredients. I thought it would be perfect to share now because the weather has been pretty dry recently and this is great to rehydrate and exfoliate dry lips!

What You Will Need:
1. Brown Sugar
2. Honey
3. Fresh Lemon Juice

How To Make It:
Add a tablespoon of brown sugar to a small plate or bowl.

Then add 1 teaspoon of honey and a squeeze of lemon.

Mix it together to create a paste like substance that it hold its own. And that's it!

How To Use:

Take a dime sized amount on a clean finger and rub it in a circular motion on your dry lips and wash it off with warm water after about a minute. Then apply your favorite chap stick or lip balm.

Store it in the refrigerator for further use! It will last for a few weeks!

This scrub can also be used as an exfoliator for your skin!

NYE Beauty Ideas

Hello Lovelies,

Hopefully you have all had a great holiday and spent a lot of time with family and friends! I can't believe 2013 is coming to a quick end and 2014 is right over the horizon, the year flew by so quickly. I always feel that I have trouble when it comes to putting together my makeup for new years eve and I thought that I would get a head start and think of a few ideas before that night! I have pulled a few beauty ideas that I think would be great...

Lipstick is something I feel should be a necessary for new years eve because it brings that pop of color to your face! The two I have here are both in, I think,  the red category and the first one which comes off as a much brighter color is by Laura Mercier in the color Fuchsia, it is the top color out of the swatches. The other lipstick I chose is by Julie Hewett in the color Oona Noir and it is a lighter color but it can be built up. It has a more orange red undertone which I feel is great any skin tone!

Next I picked out a few glittery nail polishes that felt would be great for NYE! So first we have the one by Pink in the color Backstage Pass, and it is just a classic glitter nail polish that is great to overlay on top of another polish color. Then we have a polish by elf which I got as a part of the larger gift set in the color Gina Girl that is mostly purple with pieces of gold and red glitters throughout. And last but not least we have the polish by Loreal in the color the bigger the better and it it great to apply over gray and silver polishes.

Lastly I chose a few great neutral yet shimmery eye shadows by Urban Decay from their Midnight Emergency Palette. They are in the shades Midnight Cowboy, Midnight Rodeo, and Midnight 15. They are great for a base and also crease shadow.

These were just a few of my ideas so hopefully they are inspiring, and hopefully you all have a great New Years!

Christmas Party Makeup and Hair

Hello Lovelies,

I wanted to first say Happy Holidays to everyone! So I decided to do a little how to on a look that can be done for a Christmas party. It is a festive and classic look! Here it is..

Here are the products I used to get this look!

I first used my Conair Infinity Curling Wand to curl my hair. I wrapped my hair around the thickest part of the barrel first and wrapped it down toward the thin end.

Then, I started my makeup! I first applied my Prime Time primer and then applied my Hello Flawless foundation by benefit and used my Maybelline Fit Me concealer on any dark marks. I decided to go with my Perfect 10 by Benefit for my bronzer and highlighter, and then I used my elf Mist & Set. I apply my setting spray at the half way point because I feel that it locks in everything before I apply powder to make sure everything is in place! Then I applied my Airspun translucent mineral powder all over my face but mostly concentrated on my T zone. I then went on to my eyes in which I first curled my lashes and then applied liquid liner by Sonia Kashuk to give me the cat eye effect. I also applied a bit of my Smashbox eyeliner in gold to my water line, and finished with my Maybelline Rocket mascara! Now to the last step...Lips! I am using a Christian Dior lipstick in a bright red, that I feel is perfect for a holiday party! And that's it!

Oh and dont forget to add a little accent hair accessory to pull the look together!
